Extreme Mustang Makeover

19 Jan

This past weekend I attended the Alberta Horse Owners & Breeders Conference, which has been put on annually for the past 29 years by the Horse Industry Association of Alberta. I always come home from the conference with lots of great new information and ideas. If you ever have the chance to attend, I highly recommend it!

This year, one of the speakers was Patti Colbert from Georgetown, Texas. Heavily involved in many aspects of the horse industry, Patti’s topic was “Attracting New People To Horses And Keeping Them Involved” and everyone I spoke to enjoyed her humorous and informative presentation as much as I did!

One of the projects that she’s been involved with that is designed not only to help place the wild horses captured each year by the American government, but to appeal to people who are outside of the horse industy, is the Extreme Mustang Makeover.

She also showed us the trailer for the documentary “Wild Horses Wild Ride”, which was voted one of the “Festival Favorites” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. I really enjoyed the trailer, and I hope I get a chance to see the entire movie one day!
